James Jabess is the Head of Manned Guarding Division responsible for the overall management of the guard force. That includes but not limited to; ensuring total coverage of sites all the times, filling of existing gaps in the guard force, ensuring client's expectations are met with quality, plus initiating on-going improvement initiatives in the service delivery.
A holder of a Master of Public Administration and Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Jabess had worked with the Malawi Police Service for five years and resigned at the rank of Superintendent. He also worked with Central East African Railways as a Security Manager and as an Operations Manager for Gardaworld's Illovo- Nchalo Project before taking over this current position.
The biggest challenge that he has been facing in the years that he has spent with Private Security Companies is that most often clients' expectations are not so clear as to what shape they really want services to take. To deal with this problem, he always engages clients to be specific in their needs so that they should ably train the officers a little further to tally with the existing expectation.
Being a man of unquestionable integrity, he ensures that his personal integrity trickles down to the officers on the ground. There is no security without personal integrity as the temptations in security are countless. Jabess brings to the company a "a-must-achieve" attitude which will help the company even to achieve what other people may deem unachievable. He is determined to bring to the clients' solutions that are transparent.
He envisages Jibs security to be the top provider of security services in Malawi anticipating that it may cross the borders. However, it can only achieve this if it ensures that the officers are dressed in complete uniforms whose conditions must not be below fair. This practice will preserve the good image of the company. In the near future, the company should add an additional fleet to operations to enhance good and effective supervision.
In his free time, he likes reading different books and following up on politics and international subjects that matter
